What it is
Carbendazim 50% WP is a systemic benzimidazole fungicide — the plant absorbs it and moves it internally, so it protects new growth that emerges after spraying, not just the leaf surface sprayed at the time.
Used for
Controls a wide range of fungal diseases — leaf spots, anthracnose, powdery mildew and several root and seed-borne diseases — across cereals, pulses, vegetables and fruit crops. Because it is systemic, it also works as a seed treatment against soil-borne fungi.
How to use
Follow the crop-specific dose and spray interval on the label; do not estimate a stronger mix to "make it work faster". Rotate with a fungicide from a different chemical group each season — repeated use of carbendazim alone has led to resistant fungal strains in several crops across India.
Safety
Check the label for the pre-harvest interval (the minimum days between the last spray and harvest) for your specific crop before using — it varies by crop. Wear gloves and a mask while mixing and spraying the powder. Classified as having reproductive health concerns in some regulatory reviews; pregnant women and those planning to be should avoid handling it.
